Find your i-type profile

Directly by design, contour or groove form.

i-type by design

Standard, light or Economy. The design determines wall thickness and load capacity at the same groove width.

  • Standard
  • Light
  • Economy
  • X
  • XMS

i-type by contour

Square, rectangular, round or as an angle. Choose the cross-sectional shape that suits your construction.

  • Square
  • Rectangular
  • Triangular
  • Round
  • Angle

i-type by groove form

Open or closed grooves. This determines from which sides you can attach add-on parts later.

  • Open grooves
  • 1 side closed
  • 2 sides closed 180°
  • 2 sides closed 180°
  • 3 sides closed
  • 4 sides closed

Application examples

i-type profiles in use

  • 01

    Machine frames

Load-bearing frames for machining and assembly machines that you can rebuild and extend at any time.

  • 02

    Safety enclosures

Safety fences and enclosures with panel elements and doors, adaptable in layout at any time.

  • 03

    Workstation systems

Work tables and workbenches with shelves, lighting and material supply directly on the profile.

  • 04

    Conveyor technology

Roller conveyors and transfer sections for the flow of material between your stations.

    Special machine construction

One-offs and small series that get you to a prototype quickly, without a welded construction.

  • 07

    Linear guides

Carriages, roller guides and sliding doors based on C-rails and roller profiles.

  • 08

    Cleanroom and laboratory

Structures with closed grooves for medical technology, laboratories and food production.

  • 09

    Intralogistics

Flow racks, supply trolleys and picking stations for short distances in production.

  • 10

    Test and assembly fixtures

Mounts and gauges that you can readjust within minutes when the product changes.

item Profile: frequently asked questions and answers

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about our item compatible aluminum profiles — from dimensional equivalence and the right groove width to material and cut-to-length service.

If a question remains open, our team will help you personally. You can reach us Mon. to Fri. from 9 am to 5 pm on +49 9452 9334-0.

Are your aluminum profiles dimensionally identical to item profiles?

Yes. Our i-type profiles match the corresponding item series in groove width, grid dimension and groove geometry. You can therefore extend existing constructions or replace individual profiles without using adapters.

Do my existing T-slot nuts and connectors fit?

Yes, as long as the groove width matches. Accessories for groove 8 fit every one of our series 8 profiles, regardless of which manufacturer your existing parts come from. The same applies to grooves 5, 6, 10 and 12.

Which groove width do I need?

Measure the opening of the groove on your existing profile. The value in millimetres corresponds to the series: an 8 mm groove opening means series 8. This is the most widely used size in mechanical engineering. For a new construction, the choice depends on the planned load.

Which series suits my application?

Series 5 and 6 are suitable for covers, light frames and displays. Series 8 is the standard for machine frames, workstations and conveyor technology. Series 10 and 12 carry heavy constructions and safety enclosures. Series 8 XMS has closed grooves and is suitable for cleanroom applications.

What material are the profiles made of?

We supply profiles in Al Mg Si 0.5 F25, age-hardened. The surface is naturally anodised in E6/EV1 with a coating thickness of 10 to 15 µm; the dimensional tolerances comply with EN 12020-2. This makes the profiles corrosion-resistant and designed for continuous industrial use.

Do I receive the profiles cut to size?

Yes. We supply aluminum profiles cut to your specified lengths. This saves you rework and offcuts during assembly. We agree your required dimensions with you as part of your enquiry.

What is the difference between I-type and B-type profiles?

I-type and B-type denote two different groove geometries. The profiles on this page are I-type and therefore dimensionally identical to item profiles. If you would like to extend a construction made of Bosch Rexroth profiles, you will find the matching series in our category Bosch compatible type-B profiles.

Can the profiles be reused?

Yes. All connections in the i modular system are detachable. You can dismantle a construction and reuse the profiles in a new setup. Aluminum is also fully recyclable.

How do I obtain a quotation for my project?

For larger quantities or complete constructions we will calculate an individual quotation for you. Call us on +49 9452 9334-0, Mon. to Fri. from 9 am to 5 pm, or send us your enquiry via our contact form.
